Our team is made up of great friends and hard workers, who work very well together and keep the motivation on. On all pur group projects here in UJ we've worked together since our first group project in Informatics 1B. Honestly our project did not meet up with our envisioned goal, frankly it was a disaster.We learnt from our mistakes there refined our group co-ordination and worked to our strengths and muted our weaknesses.We did a lot better on our e-commerce website, a great improvement but there was still a lot to work, like our communication,time management and priority schedule. The length and commitment level of a TYP is frustrating,tiring and irritating, which took a toll on us. It felt like work, there was no enjoyment eventually creating resentment,laziness and giving up. We had to pick our selves up,dust our selves off and try to make it work and produce something worth sharing.
Our system aims to solve a problem based in Diepsloet where community members and service providers among them cannot communicate or interact with one another to solve domestic house maintainence issues. Our system is very similar to business process of uber,clients(community members) request specific service providers based on the problem thier facing at home.They are to provider a brief description and their location. Service providers that are categorised into specific household issues, clients may select a provider based on its distance to the situated house,by rating as providers are given feedback on how they completed the job and the recently reuqests they made per category. When a client requests a certain provider, they are notified and may choose to accept or decline the request based on their current situation. On the chance that the request is accepted the client is then notified of the providers decision and informs them on how far they might be, after the provider has complted the job the client then rates the provider. As our system is a corporate one , necessary documents are to be submitted by providers;CV and the certificate of their qualification. Our client the Wot-if Trust has to verify the certificates manually as the system isnt a large one, they can either approve the provider to be able requested by clients or disapproved where they are notified of where to apply changes.
Building this porject required substantial information on which softwares we would need and work efficiently with them. The technologies we used are the ones we were familiar with and Visual Studio(C-Sharp and ASP.NET) used for the API and the WebSite and Android Studio for our mobile app.
